Frequently asked questions

Saddle stitch or perfect binding?

Saddle stitch — folded and stapled through the spine — is right up to about 48 pages and is the cheaper option. Above that the booklet stops lying flat and perfect binding (a glued square spine) reads better and looks more substantial. The product page disables the binding that won't work at your page count rather than letting you order something that can't be made.

Why must the page count be a multiple of four?

Saddle-stitched work is printed on sheets folded in half, and each sheet carries four pages — two on each side. So the total always lands on 4, 8, 12, 16 and so on. If your content comes to 14 pages we'll either add a blank or suggest what to move, and we'll tell you before you order rather than after.

Do the cover and the inside pages use different paper?

Usually yes, and it's worth it. A heavier cover — 250 or 300 GSM, often laminated — keeps the booklet from curling, while the inside runs on 100–130 GSM. You can also run cover and text on the same stock if you want a lighter, more editorial feel.

What's the minimum quantity?

From 25 copies. Below about 100 the setup is most of the cost, so the per-copy price falls steeply as you go up — ask for the price at a couple of quantities before deciding on your print run.

Can you help lay out the pages?

Yes. Send the content and images on WhatsApp and our team lays it out, then sends a digital proof of every spread for approval. There's no design charge, and nothing goes to press until you've signed off.

How fast is delivery?

Saddle-stitched booklets are typically ready in 4–5 working days after artwork approval; perfect-bound work takes 6–8 because the glue has to cure. Prices exclude 18% GST.
